Specialist-led restoration on Bromley High Street - the calm, considered way to rebuild worn, broken or missing teeth. Planned by a registered specialist, and made in our own lab.
Most people have never heard the word, and that is completely fine. A prosthodontist is simply the dentist who specialises in restoring and replacing teeth. It is one of only a small number of recognised dental specialisms, and it takes years of extra training beyond dental school to hold the title. Where you might see it called restorative dentistry, or full-mouth reconstruction for bigger cases, it all comes down to the same thing: rebuilding teeth so they work, last and look right.
Dr Michael Boulis is on the General Dental Council specialist register for prosthodontics (GDC 78828). For you, that means the tricky cases, the worn-down bites, the failing old work, the several missing teeth at once, are planned and handled here in Bromley rather than referred away. It often starts with dental implants, but the real skill is in the plan behind them.

A good general dentist looks after each tooth well. A prosthodontist looks at how your whole bite works together, which matters most when:

Every plan is built around what your mouth actually needs, using the full range of restorative options:

Your treatment is led by Dr Michael Boulis, a registered specialist prosthodontist who trained at the Eastman Dental Institute, holds a postgraduate master’s from King’s College London, and has a 98% success rate with dental implants. He also does much of the lab work himself, which is unusual and tells you how hands-on the care is. Patients tend to mention the same thing: he takes the time to explain, and nothing feels rushed.
“Michael knows his stuff and talks you through everything.”

Plenty of practices offer crowns, implants and dentures. A few things make the difference here:

Most practices post your crowns, bridges and dentures to an outside lab and wait days for them to come back. We do not. Our technicians work alongside Dr Boulis in the same building, so shade, shape and fit are refined directly, often while you are still in the chair. It is faster, more precise, and a big reason patients notice the quality.
“He even has a lab in the practice who can make the teeth in very short time, I really thank my lucky stars for having met him.”
- Google review, h R

Costs depend entirely on what you need, and you will always have clear figures before anything begins. As a guide, ceramic crowns and veneers start from £950, implant placements from £1,950, implant crowns from £995 and dentures from £1,000. Larger treatments can be spread over 12 months at 0% interest through Tabeo, from around £83 a month, with a 5% discount for paying upfront and pay-as-you-go available too.

Everything patients usually ask before starting their treatment. Can't see your question? We're happy to talk it through.
General dentists do excellent routine and restorative care. A specialist prosthodontist has three or more years of extra training focused only on restoring and replacing teeth, and plans your whole bite as one system rather than tooth by tooth. At Bella Dental that planning happens alongside our on-site lab, so the design and fit of your new teeth are controlled from start to finish.
No. You can book directly, whether or not you are already a patient, and Donatella will help arrange the right first appointment. Other dentists are also welcome to refer patients to us for prosthodontic and implant work.
Very often, yes. Rescuing and redoing ageing or failed work is a core part of what a prosthodontist does. Bring your history, we will take a CBCT scan and assess honestly, and tell you straight what can and cannot be done.
It depends on the work. Some restorations are completed within a week because we make them on-site; implants need a few months to heal between stages. You will get a realistic timeline at your first visit, not a vague guess.
Absolutely, and you would not be the first. We take everything at your pace, explain each step before we do it, and provide comfort care bags afterwards. Read more about our care for nervous patients, including sedation arranged through a specialist third-party provider.
